[ECO-FASHION] W.Y.L.D.E. SS17 Collection: Fashion Innovation & Urbanism

Fashion innovation with sustainable raw materials is revolutionising the fashion industry and we aren’t just talking the eco-fashion world. Just recently H&M held a preview of their Conscious Collection 2017 pieces centred around fashion innovation with sustainable materials.  UrbanMeisters had discovered and featured another Paris based label that is at the forefront of fashion innovation with materials during the FASHION REVOLUTION – Paris based label W.Y.L.D.E.by Clarissa Acario.  The « MADE IN FRANCE » ethical fashion brand uses the latest sustainable raw materials denims, soft poplin cotton from recycled fabric and PET / plastic bottles from French suppliers. We present the brand’s SS2017 collection preview that happened on 22nd Feb in Paris with our top picks.

Paris the fashion capital of the world is abuzz ahead of the Paris Fashion week. How can eco-fashion be far behind? Close on the heels of the impending fashion fiesta about to unfold in the city, ethical fashion innovation label W.Y.L.D.E. unveiled their Spring Summer 17 Collection- « LOOK AT THE SKY » in a special VIP event in Paris on Wednesday Feb 22nd in one of the most iconic stores in Paris- the BHV.
We’ve been following W.Y.L.D.E. for a while now. Clarissa, the creative visionary behind the label, is more than a designer. She is some sort of magician who transforms vintage/ pre-owned clothing into something totally new and urbane. Each season she presents a collection of 100% upcycled fabrics, made in France with love and following a strict ethical and sustainable process.
 

 
Just like UrbanMeisters, Clarissa is dedicated to the cause of alternative solutions for fast fashion. Fashion innovation using sustainable raw materials is the cornerstone of her brand and creative thinking. Her vision is to make sustainable clothing mainstream with stylish designs, top quality and an ethical manufacturing process completely transparent to consumers. She looks for inspiration in streets, music, art and urban culture. Hunting for vintage gems in second-hand shops is the starting point of her creative process for the unique pieces of her collection. Sometimes as she explained to us even friends bring her their precious pieces for inspiration. She then tunes them up with embroideries, pins, zippers, leather and laces pieces to make unique and super trendy clothes. But Clarissa’s efforts don’t just centre around material innovations. She stays true to her style with edgy cuts, urban contemporary designs with a touch of 80’s & 90’s rock.
Her brand W.Y.L.D.E which stands for “Words. Youth. Love. Dust. Echoes.” is not a ‘newbie’ on the scene any more but has been a key presence in the French sustainable fashion scene since 2013. W.Y.L.D.E is the first French brand proposing a complete sustainable wardrobe covering all you need from shirts, blouses, skirts, jeans to jackets and more. Now the label is entering a crucial new phase with the store BHV Marais stocking W.Y.L.D.E. from May 2017 on. For the uninitiated, BHV is a ‘luxury bazar’ where anything and everything an urban needs can be found.
