milo+nicki- The success story

milo+nicki was born the moment Nicki Patel signed the official adoption papers and the 10th lab at a foster ranch out in West Texas became Milo Patel. During a health crisis in 2014, Nicki + Milo grew stronger together by turning to their roots. Family, love, and faith became their medicine. The realisation how consumption and society impacts the environment and the cruel animal treatment set Nicki off on a journey to establish a cruelty-free and sustainable fashion line that she would love to wear. No looking back since then! Read the woman entrepreneur’s chat with UrbanMeisters here. After the success of their first collection the brand set about launching the second, constantly growing, and adapting. They picked up all the learnings from the first launch and now design with a wider audience in mind. The first collection was Nicki’s vision of all the creative juices she wanted to release in a collection, and now, as a brand, they’ve decided to put their mission and values first, and designs second.

New Collection New Mission

milo+nicki’s mission is to empower the ever-evolving woman of today to conquer her fears, take a leap of faith, never give up on herself, and live a life of colour. They use plant-based innovative fibers to create one-of-a-kind pieces, that are ‘seasonless’ and not trendy for a short time only and this time its banana! The goal is to be sustainable, ethical, and cruelty-free through their entire supply chain. Each of the designs have a feel-good bohemian vibe. The Bandhani Collection which is a vacation capsule wardrobe collection – inspired by the traditional but very popular Indian craft of tie-dye textile- launched on 9th November.

The Ultimate Vacay Capsule Wardrobe

An uber cool green fashion trend picked up by not just consumers but brands themselves is capsule wardrobe. Its all about minimising and having classic pieces that we can mix and match and rotate to create new outfits with the same old clothes. Helping us create the ultimate vacay capsule wardrobe is milo+nicki’s new collection.

Designed in Austin Texas and made in New York City, the Bandhani Collection works towards this new vision and focus by creating a more versatile collection which can be worn various ways. The 10-pieces are made to reverse, mix, and match to create multiple looks and everything one would need for a perfect vacay.

The pieces are made out of handwoven banana fabric which is obtained from banana waste. They are sustainable as they are hand-dyed with plant-based dyes, vegan, cruelty-free and biodegradable. Ethically produced, the manufacturing practices are fair-trade compliant and provide employment opportunities for the society. Check out all the pieces here:
